Steps to maximize your rack rental @ ReFAB
The question is:
‘Regardless of size, would you buy your own items if you saw them in a shop?’
If the answer is YES then you have a good chance of selling.
If the answer to the question is NO, then think about why you would not buy your own items. Are they dated? faded? misshaped or stretched? discoloured? unflattering? worn in parts?
Generally, if you wouldn’t buy it then nobody else will!!!
Items that do sell
+ Contemporary- items within the last 5 years sell best.
+ In season.
+ Quality items, well made with quality natural fabrics that are environmental
+ In great condition and gently worn.
+ New items that still have swing tags.
+ Good design that is appealing to a majority with sleeves rather than straps.
+ Fault free with no buttons missing, fabric pulls, holes in fabric or seams.
+ Washed or dry cleaned without creases (we can provide a steamer if required)
+ Presented well-pressed/ironed, any loose threads trimmed, pockets emptied etc.
+ Priced to sell.
Tip: It is good to check your clothes in the sunlight, hang up outside on the washing line to air and check for any damage or stains in the daylight, you may be surprised!
Items that do not sell
× Not contemporary- items older than 5 years, the older the less chance of selling!
× Not in season.
× Not quality items- cheap fast fashion that is not well made and/or with cheap fabric
× Not in great condition with wear at front, armhole, sleeves, neckline or faded.
× Not good design- either structurally like neckline too low or aesthetically unpleasing.
× Not fault free: button missing, pull threads, holes in fabric or seams etc.
× Not washed or dry cleaned with makeup on the inside of necklines.
× Items that are in any way unappealing e.g., underarm discolouration
× Not presented well, needs a press/iron, loose threads trimmed, pockets emptied × Not priced to sell.
